SBVC (3-1-2; 1-1) has had a difficult time at home in the two games they have had in San Bernardino tying both contests, but the proverbially pesky Chula Vista Southwestern Jaguars (4-3; 2-0) came sneaking onto the home field and snatched a late minute goal, 1-0.
Once again, SBVC dominated in the game with shots on net, taking 11 in the first half and 13 in the second half, leaving the Jaguars keeper to fend off four huge shots on goal. Both teams would fight to a stalemate in the first half, going into halftime tied at 0-0.
In the second half, SBVC's random shot selection became more focused as they started targeting better and getting closer into the box to fire their kick at the net. As the game dragged on and both teams sensed the impending three whistles from the referee, Southwestern exploited a defensive weakness. Out of the right side came a two pronged attack and after the first shot deflected off of the keeper, the second rang home in the 86th minute, giving the visiting team a commanding 1-0 lead.
